Harley dealership opens in Renton

Ray Paglia of Kent, whose family has strong ties to Renton, jokes he’s not a “bad boy,” but he sure likes his Harley.

Paglia was at the new Downtown Harley Davidson dealership this week, checking out the bikes in advance of Saturday’s grand opening.

“It’s a beautiful store,” he says. Paglia rides with friends, saying he’s drawn to the nostalgia of the Harley.

The dealership moved to Renton from Tukwila on March 25. Terry Stallcop, store dealer and general manager, says the foot traffic has been “awesome” at the store, likely the biggest in the Northwest based on size, about 90,000 square feet.

The store employs about 45 and has about 200 bikes in its showroom. Also featured are bike accessories and clothing for the riders, from jackets, to gloves, to sunglasses.

GRAND OPENING

The grand opening of Downtown Harley Davidson, 3715 East Valley Road in Renton, starts at noon Saturday. The day will feature a ribbon-cutting, music, food, World Bikini Sports League and vendors.
