Renton detective plunges for charity

Detective LeAnn Whitney of Renton Police Department put her swimming cap on Dec. 15 and made a splash for the Polar Plunge in Seattle.

The event is a fundraising effort organized by law enforcement agencies to benefit Special Olympics Washington. Officers from Seattle Police Department, King County Sheriff’s Office, Fife Police Department and Redmond Police Department joined Whitney in plunging into an above-ground pool filled with icy cold water.
