Renton Public Art Celebration at Chuck’s Donut Shop: From 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., connect with members of the Renton Arts Commission and public art creators. First 50 guests receive a free donut and “a special surprise.” Chuck’s Donuts is located at 5335 Northeast 4th St.

Saturday, Nov. 26

Renton Downtown Clean Up: Volunteers are welcome to register online to help clean up litter with the Renton Downtown Partnership from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. For more information, email director@rentondowntown.com or call 971-559-1667.

Small Business Saturday and Downtown Tree Lighting at Piazza Park: Put on by the Renton Downtown Partnership, this all-day event is to shop the downtown Renton stores with a Holiday Farmers Market from noon to 4 p.m. at Piazza Park. At 5 p.m., the tree-lighting ceremony begins with the arrival of Santa Claus. Other festivities like live music, a holiday craft market and vendors go on until 7 p.m.

Tuesday, Nov. 29

Free Lunch Pop-Up at the Renton airport: A free lunch event for the unsheltered and those with food insecurities where The Emergency Feeding Program will provide Amazon Fresh ready-to-eat food & drinks, personal hygiene kits, and socks. From noon to 1:30 p.m., the pop-up is located north of the intersection of Rainier Ave. N. and Airport Way.

Friday, Dec. 2

Renton Holiday Lights Opening Night at Gene Coulon Memorial Beach Park: From 6 to 8:30 p.m., the opening night will be filled with holiday events. The arrival of Santa Claus and the lighting happens at 6 p.m. From 6:15 to 8:15 p.m., folks can take photos with Santa Claus. From 7:15 to 8 p.m., there will be a Singalong with the rec staff at North Shelter. At 7:30 p.m., the Rainier Yacht Club’s “Parade of Boats” begins. The event closes with the Argosy Christmas Ship, starting at 8:10 p.m. The holiday lights are on daily display from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Dec. 3 to Jan. 1.

Saturdays, Dec. 3, 10 & 17

Downtown Renton Santa House at Renton Civic Theatre: Take free photos with your kids and your four-legged pets with Santa Claus himself for the first three Saturdays (and one Sunday) of December. Open from 1-4 p.m., the Renton Civic Theatre is located at 507 South 3rd Street. Photos will be available for free download on the event’s Facebook page and prints are available for purchase with a suggested donation. Friday, Dec. 16 – Sunday, Dec. 18

Wade Walthall’s The Nutcracker Opening Night at Renton IKEA Performing Arts Center: Renton’s Evergreen City Ballet will put on four performances of the Christmas ballet classic over three days in Renton. The Friday show will be at 7 p.m., Saturday’s two shows will be at 1:30 p.m. and 7 p.m. and Sunday’s closing show will be at 1:30 p.m. Tickets are $15 -$35 and are available at https://www.etix.com/ticket/o/9273/theevergreencityballet.
