The Cedar River Council asks, “Were you affected by the December 2025 Cedar River flood?” If so, they want to hear from you.

On April 1, the council announced that they are now collecting stories and observations from community members and their experiences with the December flood and how it compared to floods from the past.

On Dec. 11, 2025, the atmospheric river flooding in the Cedar River peaked at 18.25 feet, which broke a previous record of 17.3 feet in 1990.

The survey will close on April 23 and the findings will be reported at the April 28 Cedar River Council meeting, which will run from 6-8 p.m. and will be conducted over Zoom.

The survey is available in English, Spanish, Korean, Chinese, Arabic, Vietnamese, Filipino and Amharic, and can be found at forms.office.com/g/krFMX0wqsb. Surveys can also be submitted anonymously.

The Cedar River Council, which has been meeting since 1995, is an “independent public forum that promotes the health of the Cedar River.”
