Show about African-American student during Civil Rights era is this Saturday

“The Right to Dream,” a Living Voices production, recreates one student’s coming of age as an African American in Mississippi during the 1950s and 1960s.

The story revolves around a child of a WWII African-American vet and a domestic worker who confronts discrimination and segregation in a small town on the eve of the American Civil Rights Movement.

Living Voices productions combine live acting with video to illuminate how the fight against bias has shaped our history. A question-and-answer session will follow.

Tickets are $5 for adults, $2 for kids and free for members. Show is 11 a.m., Feb. 18 at Renton History Museym, 235 Mill Ave. S.
