Tennis: Liberty’s Lowes qualifies for districts; doubles team might be next

Liberty’s Thomas Lowes qualified for the Metro-KingCo district tournament with a strong performance at the KingCo tournament earlier this week.

The junior defeated Mercer Island’s Zach Elliot and Bellevue’s Gabe Monfried at the KingCo tournament for the chance to compete at districts.

The district tournament is in May.

Liberty coach Mike Salokas can’t remember the last time a Liberty tennis player made districts.

The Liberty doubles team of Chris Weik and Ryan Maio will also have a chance to qualify for districts with a match against Juanita Friday morning.
