For the Indians (8-5 overall, 6-4 Seamount) it is a second straight loss, but there is some positive momentum from the game. Kennedy is in the midst of another dominating season and had won league games by an average of 32.6 points before Renton’s narrow loss.

Renton took a five-point lead after the first quarter, but a quick Lancer turnaround put the Indians behind by six at the half. Renton pulled to within one point entering the fourth quarter, but couldn’t come all the way back.

Amanda Rogers added 10 points for Renton. Taylor Williams scored eight.

The 36 points is a season-high for Sparks, who is leading Renton with an average of 16.3 points per game.

After the two-game slide, Renton is still in third place by just a half game over Tyee. With six games left the Indians are 1.5 games ahead of Hazen and Highline, who are tied for the final Seamount playoff spot.

Mount Rainier 38, Hazen 35

Hazen locked down on defense, but still fell to Mount Rainier 38-35 Friday.

The Highlanders (6-9, 5-6) are just the third team to hold the Rams under 44 points this season. Mount Rainier started the game with a 10-6 run and Hazen could never quite crawl back.

Airashay Rogers led all scorers with 21 points for Hazen.

Hazen is now tied for the Seamount’s final playoff spot with Highline. Each team has five games left and the two play against each other Feb. 5.

Highline 51, Lindbergh 32

Lindbergh couldn’t find much offense and lost to Highline 51-32 Friday.

The Eagles (1-9, 1-9) trailed by 12 at the half, but outscored the Pirates 14-12 in the third quarter.

Emily Graver led Lindbergh with 17 points. Only four Lindbergh players scored.

With six games left, the Eagles are four games behind Hazen and Highline, who are tied for the final Seamount playoff spot.

Mount Si 57, Liberty 46

Liberty gave up a big quarter and couldn’t rebound Friday night, losing 57-46 to Mount Si.

The Patriots (6-9, 3-4 KingCo 3A/2A) led 7-5 after the first quarter. But the Wildcats outscored Liberty 26-7 in the second quarter.

Halie Ericksen led Liberty with 10 points. Aspen Winegar scored nine.
