Checking in on two Renton players at college | Baseball

Willamette University freshman Tommy Kawamura went 3 for 5 with two RBIs and three runs against Lewis and Clark April 13.

Kawamura was an all-league selection at short stop for Lindbergh as a senior last season.

He is now batting .303 with 18 runs, 11 RBIs and five steals for the Bearcats this season. He also has a .442 on-base percentage, thanks to a team-leading 18 walks. He has started 22 of the team’s 29 games.

 

Peterson playing well for Huskies

University of Washington sophomore Eric Peterson is batting .284 for the Huskies this season.

Peterson graduated from Liberty, where he was the 3A state player of the year his senior season. Peterson has started 21 of the Huskies’ 30 games this year. He has 10 RBIs and nine runs scored.
