Changes for the Seamount

The 2010-2012 classification ranges have been finalized and there will be big changes around the Seamount.

  • The Seamount will be a 3A/2A league instead of just a 3A league
  • Renton, Lindbergh, Evergreen, Tyee and Foster will be at the 2A level
  • Hazen, Highline and Kennedy (opted-up) will be at the 3A level
  • Mount Rainier will move up to 4A and leave the Seamount. The Rams will join the SPSL 4A (North or South has not yet been determined)

The regular season will look pretty much the same as Seamount teams will compete against each other. The difference will be in the postseason, where the 2A and 3A schools will head to different places.

These figures aren’t set in stone quite yet as schools can still apply to opt up, which must be done by Jan. 15. Classifications will be finalized Jan. 24.

Liberty decided to opt-up to 3A, so things will stay the same for the Patriots.
