Witnesses sought in trailer vs. motorcycle crash on I-405

An unhitched trailer on Interstate 405 near Renton resulted in serious injuries to a motorcyclist on Oct. 24.

According to an Oct. 26 news release from the Washington State Patrol, law enforcement have initiated investigation into a collision on Oct. 24 resulting from a motorcyclist striking an abandoned trailer.

Washington State Patrol communications received 911 calls at approximately 7:50 p.m. regarding a collision involving a motorcycle on northbound Interstate 405 near Northeast 44th Street in Renton.

Washington State Patrol detectives have requested public assistance in finding information and dashcam footage of the collision.

According to a news release, an investigation determined an unknown vehicle lost a trailer in the HOV lane of the highway. A motorcyclist struck the abandoned trailer, semi-ejecting the rider. The rider sustained serious injuries from the collision.

Investigation continues into the incident.
