Two reported dead in fiery car crash in the Cascade-Fairwood area

The incident occured on Aug. 27 at SE 186th St & 140th Ave SE.

At approximately 5:47 pm on Aug 27, Renton Regional Fire Authority crews were dispatched to a vehicle fire at SE 186th St & 140th Ave SE. Upon arrival, responders realized the incident was a 2-vehicle accident with a vehicle and telephone pole on fire and two people trapped.

The fire was quickly extinguished and it was confirmed there were no occupants in the vehicle.

A Renton Regional Fire Authority spokesperson said Puget Sound Energy arrived to isolate power and evaluate the power pole. Two patients were transported to Harborview Medical Center and one patient was transported to Virginia Mason Medical Center.

According to the RRFA, the scene was turned over to King County Sheriff’s Office as the incident occured in unincorporated King County.

According to a spokesperson with the King County Sheriff’s Office, the vehicles involved were a Subaru and a BMW. The Major Accident Response and Reconstruction Unit was also reportedly called to respond and are still investigating the collision.

According to the King County Sheriff’s Department, a female and male in the Subaru died as a result of the collision.
