Two plead guilty to promoting prostitution at tanning salons

Two Renton tanning-salon owners pleaded guilty to charges that they flew prostitutes from out of state to work at brothels.

Jesus “Jesse” DeLeon and Donald Kerry Frey entered their pleas in federal court last week to one count of conspiracy to transport individuals in furtherance of prostitution.

The men owned three tanning salons, including one in Renton. The Aloha Tanning Resort, 2828 Sunset Lane N.E., is now closed.

The men will be held in custody until their Nov. 11 sentencing date.

During 2007 and 2008, on multiple occasions, women working at the businesses offered to provide sex acts to undercover officers and informants in exchange for cash, according to the press release.

The charge of conspiracy to transport individuals in furtherance of prostitution is punishable by up to five years in prison and a $250,000 fine, according to a news release.
