Two juveniles arrested after allegedly stealing a car to burglarize an apartment

The suspects reportedly tried to steal a stick-shift car, before not being able to operate it.

On Aug. 10, just after 11:30 pm, Renton Police were dispatched to a parking lot on the 11100 block of Petrovitsky Rd after two suspects reportedly held a pizza delivery driver at gunpoint and tried to steal their car before they realized it was a manual, which they did not know how to operate.

The two suspects reportedly turned their attention to another driver in the parking lot and successfully stole their vehicle at gunpoint.

Less than 30 minutes later, police were dispatched to an armed home invasion. The suspects allegedly entered an apartment through a window and held a juvenile at gunpoint as they stole items from inside. The suspects then fled in what police say turned out to be the same stolen vehicle from the prior call.

Responding officers observed the vehicle fleeing at a high rate of speed but did not initiate a pursuit. The two suspects were apprehended after they reportedly crashed the stolen vehicle into a storage barn on the 900 block of SE Carr Road.

Police say the suspects were juveniles and were booked into King County Juvenile Corrections charged with multiple counts of robbery, attempted auto theft and burglary. Authorities expect more charges could be filed.
