The Society of St. Vincent de Paul of Seattle has received a $25,000 grant from the First Financial Northwest Foundation Fund through the Renton Community Foundation.

St. Vincent de Paul is among the initial group of grant recipients. The grant will be used to prevent evictions, hunger, utility shut-offs and provide other basic assistance to neighbors in need in King County.

“We commend the leadership of Renton Community Foundation & the First Financial Northwest Foundation Fund for making new funds available at a time when so many organizations are cutting funding,” says Andre de Klaver, executive director of the Society’s Seattle/King County Council.

The Renton Community Foundation is a not-for-profit organization comprised of groups of charitable funds established by individual donors and local non-profit organizations, benefiting such causes as healthcare, the arts, education, youth and families, even senior emergency pet care.
