Slushy snow signals start of winter weather

Plus, a wind advisory is in effect the night of Nov. 29

Well, at least we got about two months of fall weather.

The first substantial snowfall of the season hit the Western Washington lowlands Nov. 29, with overnight lows forecast for the high 30s and dropping into the 20s in the middle of the week.

The greater Seattle area is under a winter weather advisory, and the Eastern Puget Sound is under a winter storm warning, through Wednesday morning (Nov. 30). And high winds Tuesday night may contribute to even colder-feeling temperatures: A wind advisory in effect from Tuesday afternoon through Wednesday morning warns of winds from 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to 40 mph.

By Wednesday, the region will likely see a blend of rain and snow lasting through the weekend.
