Public Health closes King Buffet on Southwest Seventh over food-safety violations UPDATE: It reopens

King Buffet, 20 S.W. Seventh St., Renton, was closed at 3:45 p.m. Friday (Dec. 14) by a food inspector with Public Health – Seattle and King County

UPDATE: The restaurant reopened at 2:30 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 17.

King Buffet, 20 S.W. Seventh St., Renton, was closed at 3:45 p.m. Friday (Dec. 14) by a food inspector with Public Health – Seattle and King County

A phone call to the restaurant was not answered Monday morning.

The inspector found the following food-safety violations, according to Public Health:

• Potentially hazardous foods at unsafe temperatures

• Improper cooling of potentially hazardous food

• Inadequate facilities to control temperature of potentially hazardous food, cold holding

• Foods not protected from cross-contamination

• Poor personal hygiene practices: failed to wash hands

• Equipment/utensils not properly sanitized

• Handwashing facilities inaccessible

• Toxic items not properly stored/labeled; i.e. unapproved insecticides, unlabeled/mislabeled spray bottles

• Imminent health hazard: possible ongoing foodborne illness outbreak

The establishment will be reopened once the inspector confirms that all issues have been resolved, according to Public Health.
