Man stabbed in tent in Renton

Officers arrived and located the victim in the hallway of an apartment complex.

An unknown suspect climbed into the tent of a man in Renton on Sept. 14 and stabbed him with a knife.

Police have no suspect information after investigation of the stabbing of a man in a wooded area near The Landing.

According to the Renton Police Department, officers were dispatched on Sept. 14 at around 11 p.m. to the 1100 block of Sunset Boulevard Northeast after receiving a report of an individual stabbed in the right leg.

Officers arrived and located the victim in the hallway of an apartment complex. The Renton Regional Fire Authority and King County Medic One responded and transported the victim to Harborview Medical Center in stable condition for injuries.

According to a preliminary investigation by the department, the suspect entered the tent of the victim, located in a wooded area in the 1800 block of Sunset Boulevard Northeast. The suspect threatened to kill the victim prior to stabbing the victim in the leg with a “large knife,” according to the department.

The victim fled the tent and wooded area after the stabbing. The Kent Police Department responded to provide K9 assistance in tracking the suspect. Law enforcement located no suspect.

According to the department, police have not identified a motive nor connection between the suspect and victim as of Sept. 18. Investigation into the incident continues, according to the department.
