The following information was compiled based on City of Renton police reports. A drug deal went wrong and a Lynnwood man was robbed on Feb. 26. The 37-year-old Lynnwood man arranged to buy marijuana from people he didn’t know in the Fred Meyer parking lot off Rainier Avenue.

A drug deal went wrong and a Lynnwood man was robbed on Feb. 26.

The 37-year-old Lynnwood man arranged to buy marijuana from people he didn’t know in the Fred Meyer parking lot off Rainier Avenue.

The robbery happened around 4:40 p.m.

Two black males met the man and they decided to complete the transaction at the Plum Tree Apartments.

The 37-year-old Lynnwood man was then robbed of his necklace and wallet at gunpoint.

Among other items in his wallet, the alleged thieves made off with $3,000 cash.

One of the suspects is described as in his 40s, 6-foot-2, with a dark complexion, short black hair, wearing a black shirt and pants.

The other suspect is described as about 35-years-old, with short black hair, glasses and wearing a visor, black jacket and black pants.

 

Woman robbed at gunpoint

A woman was robbed at gunpoint in the parking lot of a local grocery store on Feb. 24.

The crime happened around 7:30 p.m. in the Albertson’s lot at 4601 Northeast Sunset Boulevard.

The 31-year-old woman had just finished shopping and was putting groceries in her vehicle when she was approached.

She heard a male voice demand her money and her wallet. The woman felt what she believed to be a gun pressed into her back.

She gave the suspect her wallet and the suspect took off in a vehicle.

The woman drove to another location and phoned police.

 

Man shows gun in RTC parking lot

A Brier man encountered a man with a gun on Renton Technical College’s campus on Feb. 24.

The 28-year-old man reported the incident to police on Feb. 28.

He was in a parking lot of the campus at 3000 N.E. Fourth St. when he saw a couple arguing.

The man interrupted the male in the argument as he was shaking a female violently. Once the male suspect stopped, the female ran off.

The suspect then lifted his shirt to reveal what looked like an automatic pistol to the 28-year-old man.

The suspect then disappeared in the same direction as the female on foot.

The suspect is described as white, in his early 20s, approximately 5-foot-6 to 5-foot-7, with a “scraggly” goatee about one to two inches long. He was wearing a black coat with black Dickie-style jeans.

 

Man steals car, assaults woman

A Des Moines man was cited for fourth-degree assault after stealing a car temporarily in Renton on Feb. 26.

A 38-year-old woman was with the 44-year-old male suspect at a bar in Skyway. The two are a couple.

The woman followed her boyfriend home in a separate car. They pulled over and he got in her car after she noticed him driving erratically.

The two got into a dispute because he wanted to go to another club.

He hit her in the face with his hand, causing her to have a nose bleed.

The man then left in her car, but returned then left again on foot with the woman’s keys.

The woman reported the incident at about 3:40 a.m.

The man was cited for fourth-degree assault and theft.

 

Moped defaced in front yard

Someone defaced an entire moped in Renton on Feb. 25.

The incident occurred in the 400 block of Williams Avenue North just after midnight.

The owner of the vehicle, a 51-year-old Renton man, parked the moped in the front yard and left.

When he returned a short time later, black spray paint covered the entire moped.


Renton couple gets into bloody fight

A Renton couple got into a bloody fight on Feb. 24.

At about 11 p.m. police were called to a residence in the 800 block of Cedar Avenue in response to a domestic dispute.

They arrived to find a 35-year-old woman with a bruised eye and dried blood on her cheek.

Apparently she and her 43-year-old husband got into an argument and both were intoxicated. The woman said she followed her husband into their bedroom to try and resolve the argument, even though he didn’t want to be bothered.

The woman told police the man then grabbed her head and punched her in the face six to eight times, causing her nose to bleed and her face to hurt.

The man who had left on foot, was later located by a K9 unit and transported to jail for investigation of fourth-degree domestic violence against his wife.
