Lindbergh High School students in JoAnne Peterson’s French class spent a day in a French immersion retreat called Le Camp Français at Mount Rainier High School recently.
The eight students were among more than 120 other high school students only allowed to speak French for the day doing classroom assignments, scavenger hunts, singing, skits, folk dancing and a Mardi Gras dance.
“In the past this camp has been an overnight camp at Camp Don Bosco or Camp Waskowitz, but to make it more affordable for all we tried and liked the one day version,” said Peterson.
The students were third- to fifth-year French students and came from as far north as Sedro Woolley and south from Tacoma.
