Woman assaults man

Renton police received report at the department office on March 2 at 1:30 p.m. of an assault the day prior.

A man reported his ex-girlfriend punched him in the face following an argument at her home, breaking his eye socket and nose. After speaking with the victim, officers determined probable cause to charge the suspect with felony assault in the second degree.

Police have forwarded the case to the King County Prosecutor’s Office for review of the recommended charges.

Man assaults woman

Renton Police Department officers dispatched to the 3800 Block of Northeast 4th Street on March 6 at 1:47 p.m. after receiving report of an assault.

At the scene, officers contacted a woman reporting her boyfriend strangled her the night prior following an argument. Police determined probable cause to arrest the man on a felony charge of assault in the second degree.

Officers located the man inside the home and arrested him, according to the Renton Police Department. Police also located cocaine on the suspect in an incident-to-arrest search.

Police transported the suspect to the King County Jail and booked him on the assault charge.

Chased with a knife

Renton police dispatched to a location near Fred Meyer on 365 Renton Center Way after receiving report of a subject attacking victims with a knife.

A victim reported to officers that a man approached him as he walked near a fast-food restaurant in the area, according to the Renton Police Department. The man punched the victim without provocation and pulled out a folding knife, extending the blade and threatening the victim with stabbing motions, the victim reported.

The victim fled to the Fred Meyer with the suspect chasing him, according to the department. The victim stopped outside of the entrance of the Fred Meyer as the suspect ran into the store. The suspect then exited and headed east on foot.

Officers located and detained the suspect in an area check in the 200 Block of South 3rd Street. After positively identifying the suspect, police arrested the man and transported him to the King County Jail on a felony charge of assault in the second degree.

Police discovered two fixed-blade knives on the suspect in an incident-to-arrest search matching the victim’s descriptions.

Gunshot wounds two

Renton police responded to an apartment building in the 1100 Block of Lake Washington Boulevard North after receiving reports of a domestic incident involving a woman screaming, “you shot me!”

Officers arrived and forced entry into the building after unsuccessfully attempting to gain entry with an incorrect access code, according to the department. Police located the male suspect in the upper parking garage with an injury to his finger from a gunshot.

Police located the woman in a nearby elevator with a graze to her arm.

According to the department, in an argument between the man and woman, the man started to choke the woman from behind as she tried to leave. The woman seized a knife to defend herself and the man raised a gun at her.

The man pushed the woman out the front entrance and fired the gun, striking both his hand and the woman’s arm.

Medics transported the man to Harborview Medical Center for serious injuries to his hand and the woman to Valley Medical Center for minor injuries.

Detectives responded and took charge of the scene.
