Four Renton-area seniors named Washington Scholars

Four high school seniors in the Renton area have been selected as Washington Scholars by the Washington Student Achievement Council and Association of Washington.

Four high school seniors in the Renton area have been selected as Washington Scholars by the Washington Student Achievement Council and Association of Washington.

The association announced the names of 196 high school seniors recognized as Washington Scholars or Washington Scholar Alternates for their outstanding accomplishments.

The four seniors are Maximillian S. Greenwald and Neil M. Chakravarty from Liberty High School and Erika E. Sweet and Alex Wang from Kentridge High School.

The Washington Scholars recognition award represents the highest academic honor conferred by the State of Washington and is awarded to students who demonstrate the educational excellence and civic commitment so vital to the future of our state.

Three students are selected from of the state’s 49 legislative districts for the honor.

There is no monetary scholarship with the award.
