A drive-by shooting Tuesday night disrupted the gathering of a group memorializing a Renton middle school student who had recently died. Two were shot— one with life-threatening injuries.

Renton Police Department states that the celebration of life was being held just north of Ivar at Gene Coulon Memorial Beach Park. David Nelson reports the event was for a 14-year-old who recently completed their last year at Risdon Middle School. A GoFundMe for her funeral services is available here.

The shooters then pulled up and shot at the group and then fled in what police say was possibly green Toyota 4Runner. Police arrived around 9:30 p.m. to calls of multiple shots and several witnesses were interviewed Tuesday night by Renton Police Department.

Information on the victims of the shooting is not yet available.

Police ask anyone with information to call 425-430-7500 and reference case 20-6961.
