Benson Road near City Hall is closing today (Friday) at about 8 p.m. for the weekend as part of the I-405 widening and interchange project.
Benson Road between Grady Way and Puget Drive will reopen at 5 a.m. Monday.
The I-405 Stage 2 contractor for the Washington state Department of Transportation, is making major modifications to Benson to accommodate a new bridge for the off-ramp to Talbot Road.
The state also is closing Benson weeknights from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. as part of the freeway work. Those closures will end in mid-May.
Local access will remain open between Puget Drive and Eagle Ridge Drive on Benson Road. The suggested detour for the closures is Puget Drive, Talbot Road and Grady Way.

Other traffic-related impacts through Friday, April 2, include:
• Up to three lanes in both directions of I-405 from I-5 to SR 167 will close nightly, Saturday March 27 – Friday, April 2, from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.
• Up to two lanes in both directions of I-405 from SR 167 to SR 169 will close nightly, Monday – Thursday from 9 p.m. to 4:30 a.m.
• Up to three lanes on southbound I-405 from Southeast Eighth Street to I-90 in Bellevue will close nightly, Monday – Thursday from 8 p.m. 5 a.m. to install pavement markings.
• The on- and-off ramps from Northeast Eighth Street to southbound I-405 in Bellevue will close nightly, Monday – Thursday from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. to install pavement markings.
