Stolen trucks found, but 7,000 Wii U game consoles still missing

Two trailers and a box truck loaded with 7,000 Wii U game consoles that were reported stolen from SeaTac Dec. 16 have been recovered empty, according to the King County Sheriff’s Office.
Detectives with the Sheriff’s Office estimated the value of property stolen, including the vehicles, was more $2 million.
The box truck was located Dec. 19 parked near a warehouse in Fife, with the business logos removed. The trailers were recovered Dec. 30 in Auburn near near 277th Street. The logos and vehicle identification numbers had been covered with white paint. Additionally, “S.S. Trans” was painted on the front of the trailer.
The remaining trailer was located Jan. 2 near Carson, Calif. The trailer’s logo had also been covered with white paint and marked with “S.S. Trans.”
SeaTac detectives are working with the Los Angeles-based “Cargo Theft Task Force” on the case. Detectives said an reward in the case has also been increased to $10,000, thanks to donations from private businesses.
The City of SeaTac contracts with the King County Sheriff’s Office for police services.
