City has priorities wrong, vote no annexation

Dear residents of Leisure Estates and friends: If you have not already voted, I sure hope that you have looked at the VOTERS GUIDE. On one page is information regarding a YES or NO Vote for the Renton Library, on the opposite page, is information for those in the Rural King County Library District asking for a TAX increase for the King County Library System.

Our ballots here only had one item on them. Also I am disgusted with a mailing piece that was put out by King Parker, local businessman and City Council Member, entitled “Library Annexation: Getting MORE For Your Money.” It has his return address on it and was published at a union shop. If you think you will have a reduction in TAXES for giving away our library, think again. Renton has it priorities wrong when it can spend money for television commercials advertising that it is “Ahead of the Curve” and then give away its libraries. Just sharing my personal opinion.
