RE: Banner on City Hall to recognize major donors article in the Feb. 26 edition of Renton Reporter.

Is Renton’s City Hall for sale? First the Library and now City Hall. What is next? For only $10,000 you can have your name on a massive banner hanging from Renton City Hall, also be memorialized with a plaque for only $3,000. Something is wrong with this picture for City Hall/City of Renton to promote private businesses.

Friends of Renton Schools/Renton Community Foundation should hang their banner on Renton High School. Why should private business and organizations have their names plastered on Renton City Hall? Better yet, since Valley Medical Center “Launching Lifetime Learning” benefit breakfast on April 26 is hosting this event, they should hang the banner on the south or west side of their new Hospital wing.
