Man assaulted | Renton police blotter

Man assaulted: At 11:07 p.m. Jan. 3 in the 60 block of Rainier Avenue South, an officer was dispatched to an assault. Upon arrival, the officer contacted the victim, who stated he picked up his girlfriend from the location to run an errand. When they returned to the location, several family members of the girlfriend approached the victim and assaulted him. The case is still under investigation.

Stealing accusations: At 12:43 a.m. Jan. 4 in the 1300 block of Union Avenue Northeast, officers responded to a verbal dispute. Officers interviewed both involved parties and determined there was a dispute after one party believed the other had stolen her belongings. The argument turned physical, and two patrons separated the two women. The women involved did not want to pursue charges.

Drunk driver: At 12:42 a.m. Jan. 4 in the 900 block of South Grady Way, an officer on patrol spotted a vehicle parked in the exit lane in the parking lot of a business. The officer contacted the driver, who was found sleeping in the vehicle. When the driver woke up, the officer immediately noticed the odor of alcohol. The driver performed a field sobriety test and failed. He was arrested for DUI.

Narcotics found: At 7:14 p.m. Jan. 5 in the 200 block of Whitworth Avenue South, an officer located a vehicle blocking the entrance of a parking lot. When the officer ran the driver’s information, it turned out she had a felony warrant. During a search, officers located numerous packages of suspected narcotics. She was taken into custody and booked into jail.

CPS referral: On Jan. 6, a sexual offense was reported. The case is a Child Protective Services referral that is currently under investigation. Given the sensitive nature, there is no information available at this time.
