Residents at the Lakeshore, a retirement community on Rainer Avenue South, are using their annual Luau this Friday to benefit King County Fire Station 20, complete with roasted pork and hula dancers!

The all-you-can-eat buffet is $10 per ticket, with all proceeds going to the fire district. The luau is open to neighbors; advance reservations are appreciated.

“The money raised at The Lakeshore’s Luau goes directly into our general fund allowing us to buy medical supplies to help people in immediate need of care,” said King County Fire Station 20 Public Information Officer Dave Nelson in a press release. “We are grateful for every dollar raised and see direct results from this effort right here in our greater Skyway community every day.”

About 250 people are expected to attend, including residents, their families, friends and neighbors.

On the agenda for the evening is:

• Benefit buffet: $10 all-you-can-eat island-style roast pork, ono sweet ribs, grilled salmon with mango, Hawaiian side dishes, and tropical fruits and cakes for dessert.

• Vacation atmosphere: Mai Tai’s, leis, tikis and a gentle breeze by Lake Washington.

• Live entertainment: Hula dancers and three hours of live Hawaiian music.

“The luau is an annual tradition at The Lakeshore, and this year we decided to add more aloha spirit with the all-you-can-eat buffet to benefit the firefighters and medics in our community,” said The Lakeshore Executive Director Susanne Rossi.

The luau is scheduled for 2:30 to 6 p.m. Friday at The Lakeshore, 11448 Rainier Ave. S. Reservations can be made by calling The Lakeshore at 206-772-1200, or by visiting http://www.eraliving.com/communities/lakeshore.
