Sink hole closes Monster Road in both directions from Beacon Coal Mine Road to 68th Avenue South/MLK Jr. Way

A sinkhole has been discovered and Monster Road will be closed in both directions from the Beacon Coal Mine Road in Renton up to 68th Avenue South/Martin Luther King Jr. Way in unincorporated King County.
At this time it appears no Renton piped utilities are the cause of the sinkhole. Crews are onsite to determine the cause of the sinkhole.
Motorists are advised to avoid these streets and consider the following alternate routes.
• From Renton up Monster Road to King County:
Traffic alternatives are to Grady Way, head west to I-405/I-5 north or West Valley Hwy/Interurban Avenue through Tukwila
From King County to Renton down Monster Road:
• MLK Jr. Way/Sunset Blvd. into Renton
