Hazen High School’s Makena Kiellsen, soccer, was chosen as the Renton Reporter’s Athlete of the Week for the week of Oct. 11.
Q: What was your favorite subject in school?
A: My favorite subject is math because I love getting the right answer.
Q: What other activities/hobbies do you enjoy?
A: I enjoy reading, shopping and doing fun things with my friends.
Q: Person who has helped you succeed the most?
A: My parents have helped me succeed because they motivate me to be my best self.
Q: Do you have a pre-game ritual or post-game tradition, and what is it?
A: It’s kind of unhealthy but if I’m really proud of how I played I treat myself to my favorite food; a milkshake.
Q: Song you currently can’t get enough of?
A: Pretty Boy Swag by Soulja Boy is our team song and I love getting hyped to it.

Makena had to step up this season and move to a new position. She thrived with the change and has scored seven goals and had two assists so far this season. Makena keeps the team positive and is becoming a strong leader.
