A two-alarm fire in a two-story Highlands home is now out.

A neighbor called in the fire, located off Whitman Avenue Northeast. Bellevue Eastside, Skyway and Puget Sound fire departments responded.

The fire is believed to have started on the porch of the home.

The fire quickly reached the roof of the structure, so firefighters are focusing on protecting the surrounding homes, which has so far been successful.

The smoke from the fire could be seen as far as Tukwila, according to some reports.

Nobody was inside the house, and there are no injuries according to Renton Regional Fire Authority.

The family of the residence arrived on the scene and are being helped by Red Cross. There’s no damage to the surrounding homes, although there was extensive damage to the two-story house.

Fire investigators remain on scene to determine the cause as crews demobilize.
