Renton police are warning residents about what appears to be a fake parking ticket scam.

A Renton man returned to his parked car on June 11 and discovered what appeared to be a parking infraction notice. On contacting the Renton Municipal Court, he learned that the parking ticket was actually a fake.

The fake parking ticket included an envelope addressed to a post office box for remittance. Actual notices of infraction issued by the Renton Police look like the photo on the right, and have a 1055 S. Grady Way (Renton City Hall) address listed.

Renton Police are asking anyone who has received a similar ticket to contact Sgt. Radke at 425-430-7529, and reference Renton Police case 15-6883.
