Police searching for ‘person of interest’ after Saturday home invasion and attack

An 86-year-old man and a 74-year-old woman were attacked by Saturday night during a home invasion in the 4000 block of Wells Avenue North.

At approximately 8:52 p.m. Jan. 24, Renton Police responded to a 9-1-1 call from a woman reporting she was attacked in her residence by an unknown man. Responding officers found the sliding glass door of the residence shattered and the woman and her husband inside the residence. Both were bleeding from serious head injuries, and were transported to Harborview Medical Center.

The residence was ransacked, with drawers pulled open and items scattered around the house. The residents are still hospitalized and in stable condition, according to Renton Police.

Police are trying to identify a person of interest in this violent crime, who was observed in the area prior to the assault and robbery. He is described as:

• Light-skinned Hispanic male

• 35-45 years old

• No facial hair

• Black and grey salt and pepper hair, more black than grey. His hairstyle is described as very short on the sides, with the top pulled back into a short ponytail high on the back of his head.

• Wearing light grey sweatpants with a matching light grey sweatshirt, with a white t-shirt underneath.
