Short police chase ends in Renton

A short police chase that began in Skyway came to end in Renton Monday evening.

The chase began around 4:30 in Skyway when police attempted to stop a vehicle. Instead, the driver led police on a chase for approximately 15 minutes, finally coming to a stop near Taylor Avenue Northwest and Rainier Avenue South.

Sheriff’s Office spokesman DB Gates said he did not know why the driver did not stop for police as the car was registered to him.

Two unoccupied cars and three police cars were damaged during the incident.

The suspect was booked for investigation of attempting to elude.
