Sinkhole repaired; Monster Road back open

According to a post on the City of Renton’s Facebook feed, a sinkhole that opened on Monster Road on Monday has been repaired and the road is back open in both directions.

According to the city, the sinkhole was caused by a rotten stump found about seven feet deep. Public works crews filled the base with rocks and quarry and built a temporary pavement.

Additional repairs will be completed next week.
