Renton severe weather shelter to be open each night this week

The City of Renton will be activating the Severe Weather Shelter (SWS) at Harambee Church through the weekend.
The shelter will be open each night, beginning tonight, Monday Dec. 2 through Sunday, Dec. 7 due to dangerously low temperature predictions and the forecast of snow.
The shelter is located at Harambee Church, 316 S. 3rd St., Renton.
Check in an registration is at 9 p.m. and the shelter will lcose at 8 a.m. each morning and all must vacate.
There are separate sleeping space for men, women, and for families with children. The SWS will be operated by Catholic Community Services staff and volunteers from Harambee Church and the greater Renton community.
All must register at the door. As with all shelters, rules for the health and safety of clients, staff and the broader community will apply.
