Liberty tops Hazen in non-league rivalry game
The Liberty boys soccer team shutout Hazen 3-0 March 12 in the non-league season opener for both teams.
Aaron Potoschnik scored all three goals for the Patriots to earn a hat trick. Blake Kessler had two assists, while Josh Muttart had the other assist. Nate Mak earned the shutout.
Liberty took a lead in the 19th minute, then tacked on two goals later in the second half.
Lindbergh ties Interlake
The Lindbergh boys soccer team tied Interlake 1-1 in non-league competition Monday.
The Eagles (0-1-1) fell behind 25 minutes into the game, then got a goal from Camerson Sarginson in the 74th minute to tie the game. Eric Ortuno-Perez earned the assist.
Lindbergh opened the season with a 2-0, non-league loss to Seattle Christian March 12.
Sammamish comes back to beat Hazen
The Hazen baseball team opened the season with a 6-4 non-league loss to Sammamish Monday.
The Highlanders (0-1) led 4-3 though four innings but gave up three runs in the bottom of the sixth.
Travis Johnson went 2-3 with a run, an RBI and a double for Hazen. Zac Kolterman went 2-3 with two RBIs and a double.
Jake Kolterman started the game for Hazen and struck out six in four innings, while giving up three runs.
