About 400 students in the Renton School District received backpacks and school supplies recently in the annual Bridge the Gap program.

Communities In Schools of Renton and Highlands Community Church partnered recently for the Second Annual Bridge The Gap program to provide more than 400 Renton students with back-to-school supplies and backpacks to begin school.

Backpacks were donated by Tukwila Costco and most of the supplies were donated by members of the Highlands Community Church.

Highland Community Church supplied three buses that were filled with school supplies. Children and their families were able to choose a backpack and board one of the buses to fill their backpacks with supplies.

There were volunteers on hand from the Renton Clothing Bank for families to connect with for back to school clothing.
