Car wash raises nearly $3,000 to save Lindbergh pool

Save the Pool organizers raised about $3,000 with a car wash last weekend, bringing their total up to about $9,000.

The Renton School District found a way to increase revenue at the Lindbergh and Hazen pool by about $60,000 next year.

Organizers will now only need to raise about $6,000 more by the end of June to keep the Lindbergh pool open for the 2010-2011 school year.

The next fundraiser, a Laps for Lindbergh, is 9 a.m.-11 a.m. May 22 at the pool at the Fairwood Greens Country Club in Fairwood.
