Track and field: Renton boys finish fourth at Shoreline; Hazen’s Levkiv wins again

The Renton boys track team placed fourth overall at the 22nd annual Shoreline Invitational Boys Track Meet Saturday at Shoreline Stadium.

The meet combined 57 boys track teams from all over Washington.

The Indians scored 36 points, 8.5 points behind Kentridge in third.

Armin Basic led the Indians with a win in the discus and a fifth-place finish in the shot put. Basic threw a distance of 165 feet, seven inches in the discus, over five feet more than second place.

Ronielle Kelly-Battles won the triple jump for Renton with distance of 45 feet, 2.75 inches. Kelly-Battles also tied for 11th in the long jump.

Tevin Ponders placed fourth in the 110-meter hurdles and sixth in the 300-meter hurdles.

Renton’s 4X100 relay team placed fifth in the finals.

Hazen

The Hazen boys scored 26 points and finished in a three-way tie for seventh.

Andrey Levkiv won the shot put competition, throwing 56 feet, five inches. He also placed fourth in the discus. Levkiv has now won the shot put in seven of the eight meets he’s competed in this season.

Jeff Hinckley placed fourth in the pole vault, clearing 14 feet.

James Holland placed seventh in the 110-meter hurdles. Adriel Johnson placed 11th in the 300-meter hurdles.

Lindbergh

The Lindbergh boys track team finished 25th with 12 points.

Trevor Thompson finished fourth in the 3200 finals. Matt Miland placed 10th in the same race.

Zack Nielsen placed ninth in shot put and second in discus.
