The Hazen swim and dive team kept rolling, and won the West Central District 3A meet Nov. 4-5 at the Hazen pool.

The Highlanders scored 235 points, outpacing second-place Peninsula with 198. Kennedy Catholic came in third at 194.

Hazen’s 200-yard medley relay team won with a time of one minute, 56.32 seconds. Talisa Wibmer, Kourtney Brunings, Kayla DiMicco and Taylor Gale made up the relay.

Wibmer also picked up a win in the 200 IM and the 100 back. DiMicco earned a win in the 100 free.

Amy LeBar took second in the 200 free and second in the 100 free. Brunings placed fourth in the 200 IM and second in the 100 breast. Gale took eighth in the 50 free and seventh in the 100 fly.

DiMicco placed fifth in the one-meter dive competition with a score of 295.90, while teammate Sarah McCormick was just behind with 295.85 points in sixth.

Anna Collons took 10th in the 100 free and sixth in the 100 back. Kara Bradford finished 10th in the 500 free. Megan Downs took ninth in the 100 back.

Hazen’s 200-free relay team of Gale, Collons, McCormick and LeBar finished third.

The Highlanders 400-free relay team won with a time of 3:43.94. LeBar, Brunings, Wibmer and DiMicco swam on the relay.

Advancing to state for Hazen:

200-medley relay, Amy LeBar (200 free, 100 free), Talisa Wibmer (200 IM, 100 back), Kourtney Brunings (200 IM, 100 breast), Sarah McCormick (dive), Kayla DiMicco (dive, 100 free), 200-free relay, and 400-free relay.

Wibmer has the state’s top 100-back qualifying time at 59.54 seconds, barely edging Liberty’s Mackenna Briggs at 59.64 seconds.
