The defending Seamount League champion Lindbergh Eagles baseball team is hoping for a repeat of last year’s undefeated season.

Returning from the team that last year led the league in nearly offensive category are several first team All-League players. Catcher and league batting champion Tyler Gould and his incredible .619 batting average back to the field, along with first basemen/pitcher Matt Stuartand outfielder Craig Yamaguchi.

According to coach Benny Benavides, Gould is injured to start the season, and team “workhorse” Derrick Holt will be doing the catching until Gould recovers.

Also returning after missing all but two games last year is Cameron Callen who will be at shortstop and pitching.

Other key players to watch this year will be Matt Hernandez who will be pitching and playing outfield, Taylor Scarvie who will be pitching and playing first base, and second-basemen/pitcher Enrique Martinez.

According to Benavides, the team expects to compete hard every day and play sound, fundamental baseball through the season.

As of March 22, the Eagles began the season 2-0.
