The St. Louis Rams released quarterback Marc Bulger Monday.

Bulger turned 33 Monday and, when healthy, has been the Rams’ main starter since 2002.

He averaged 12 games per year in that span and only played 16 games once (2006). Bulger totaled 122 touchdowns to 93 interceptions.

St. Louis is the second NFC West team to change starting quarterbacks this offseason. Arizona’s Kurt Warner retired. The quarterback upheaval should help the Seahawks climb back into the division title hunt.

Bulger went 4-11 against the Seahawks while with the Rams.
