The Lindbergh Eagles football team remained unbeaten this week with a 24-13 win over Renton at Renton Memorial Stadium.
Five different players scored six touchdowns for the Hazen High School football program this past week as the Highlanders picked up their second win of the season with a 41-26 victory at Evergreen.
Hazen Soccer used Thursday’s night’s matchup as a tune up in advance of their big league match next week, beating Evergreen 8-0.
Evergreen jumped out to a quick lead, besting the Eagles 25-21 in the opening set, but Lindbergh re-grouped and won the next three sets to take home the match victory.
Despite a quick Renton goal in the first minute of play, the Lindbergh Eagles girls soccer team rallied back to beat the Renton Indians 4-2 Thursday at Renton Memorial Stadium in a matchup of two of the top teams in the Seamount League.
The Eagles dropped the first set 25-20 to the Pirates, but then took control.
Hazen opened strong and rallied in the fourth quarter but it was not enough.
Led by another three touchdown effort from Ernie Davis, the Renton Indians rolled over Highline 45-8 this past Thursday to move to 3-2 on the year.
The game was Lindbergh’s first home game of the season and also served as the school’s homecoming game, complete with a halftime show featuring the band, cheerleaders and the homecoming court.
Lindbergh’s Devon Jackson scored the winning touchdown with 2.2 seconds left on the clock to send Eagles fans home happy.
It’s homecoming weekend for Lindbergh High School and the Eagles will take on inter-district rivals Hazen at tonight’s homecoming game at Renton Memorial Stadium.

The offense tallied six goals for the second game in a row. Sophomore forward Erin Zetterberg had two goals, assists to senior Cindy Hanson and senior Korbyn Walls.
After uncharacteristically dropping two games in a row, Hazen Soccer rebounded Saturday with a big win over Yakima’s Eisenhower Cadets.
Lindbergh, who opened with three wins on the road, plays its first home game on Friday at Renton Memorial Stadium.
Sophomore Kaleb Magee scored the first three touchdowns for the Highlanders, opening with a 10-yard run before breaking off an 80-yard touchdown scamper to give the Highlanders a 14-0 lead after the first quarter.
Running Back Ernie Davis rushed for three touchdowns and picked up a fourth on a punt return while quarterback Elijah Clayton added three touchdown passes of his to own to fuel the win.
The Eagles finished last season third in the Seamount with a 6-4 record and an eighth-place finish at the district meet.
The team is led by a pair of returning swimmers, who competed in last year’s state meet, both with the goal of racing again with the best in Washington
