It was Cardinals over Eagles twice this weekend as the Lindbergh softball team was eliminated from the postseason.

The Lindbergh softball season fell to Orting and Franklin Pierce on Friday to be eliminated from postseason play and bringing their 2-16 campaign to an end..

The Eagles opened the West Central tournament against Orting on Friday and quickly found themselves in a hole after the Cardinals scored 10 runs in the bottom of the second inning, then added two more in the third and three more in the fourth.

The Eagles found their game some in the fifth, scoring three runs, but it was all they could muster, falling 15-3.

The loss set up a loser-out matchup with Franklin Pierce later in the day and the matchup with those Cardinals did not go any better with Franklin Pierce cruising to a 15-5 victory. No statistics were available from the game.

Lindbergh finishes the year 5-14 overall and 5-9 in the Seamount.
