Lindbergh locks in seed for state, Foster still alive | Boys basketball

After clinching a berth into the state tournament, the Lindbergh boys basketball team fell to Sumner and Clover Park over the weekend. The Eagles (14-12) will take the West Central District's fifth seed to the 2A state tournament, which is March 1-3 at the Yakima Valley SunDome.

The Eagles (14-12) will take the West Central District’s fifth seed to the 2A state tournament, which is March 1-3 at the Yakima Valley SunDome.

Lindbergh lost to Sumner 52-37 Feb. 18. The Eagles fell victim to a 26-7 run in the second quarter and couldn’t come back. Jimmy Keum scored 29 points to lead Lindbergh.

The Eagles then lost to Clover Park 53-46 Feb. 20. Keum again led the team with 17 points.

Foster takes on Kingston Tuesday night at 6 p.m. at Foss High School in a winner-to-state, loser-out game.

The Bulldogs (13-13) lost to Clover Park Feb. 16, then won two straight games against Fife (51-40) and Sequim (53-45). Ablie Leigh scored 17 points to lead Foster against Fife, while Cedric Cooper led the team with 17 against Sequim.
