The Hazen Highlander soccer team closed out their season this week with a pair of wins and a loss, but officially locked down the top seed in the District 3A tournament beginning next week.
In their final game of the season on Tuesday, Hazen beat Tyee 2-1 on goals from Gorav Singh and Ethan Kem, both off assists from Reyes Garcia.
The win gave Hazen the No. 1 seed in the district playoffs.
On April 29, the Highlanders fell 2-1 to Kennedy Catholic, the 3A No. 2 seed, setting up the need to beat Tyee in order to secure the top spot in the playoffs. The match was also Hazen’s final Seamount League game as the league will disband after this season and the Highlanders will play in the new South Puget Sound League- North next year.
On April 26, Hazen blasted Renton 8-1.
Hazen will head into the tournament as the No. 1 seed and will play the South Puget Sound League No. 1 seed at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, May 12, at Renton Memorial Stadium.
