Girls basketball: Renton playing tie-breaker Tuesday night against Foster

The Renton girls basketball team faces Foster tonight in a tie-breaker game to determine who will takes the Seamount’s final playoff spot.

The game is at 7 p.m. at Lindbergh.

The teams are both 8-8 in league play and tied for fifth in the standings.

Foster won 58-35 the first time the teams played on Jan. 14. The Bulldogs outscored Renton 20-3 in the first quarter and Renton never recovered.

Renton responded with a 64-59 win the second time around on Feb. 13.

Christina Hay and Addyson Stowers each scored 20 to lead Renton. Kelsey Sparks scored 16.

The winner will face Peninsula at 3:30 at Auburn Mountainview on Saturday in the Seamount/SPSL 3A tournament.
