Lindbergh 49, Hazen 45

Lindbergh took an early lead and Hazen’s comeback attempt came up short as the Eagles won 49-45 Friday.

Lindbergh (8-7 overall, 7-5 Seamount) led by 13 points at the half, while Hazen (10-5, 8-4) outscored the Eagles by nine points in the second half.

Marcissa McMillan scored 25 points. She collected 15 rebounds and five blocks. McMillan made 12 of 14 free throw attempts.

Jordan Halingstad scored 14 points.

Airashay Rogers scored 21 points to lead Hazen. Michelle Wnek collected 12 points and five steals. Wnek is averaging 5.4 steals per game and has been held under three steals just twice this season.

Hazen beat Lindbergh 49-39 the previous Monday.

Hazen is in third place in the Seamount. Lindbergh is tied with Foster for fourth place.

Mount Rainier 53, Renton 31

Renton got off to a slow start and never recovered in a 53-31 loss against Mount Rainier Friday.

The Indians (5-10, 5-7) scored two points in the first quarter and ten in the first half. The Rams led by 15 points at halftime.

Christina Hay led all scorers with 11 points for Renton. Gabrielle Redwine and Addyson Stowers each scored six points.

Eight players scored between five and ten points for Mount Rainier.

Renton is in sixth place in the league.

Liberty 73, Sammamish 17

Liberty dominated from the first whistle in a 73-17 win against Sammamish Friday.

Liberty (14-3, 7-2 KingCo 3A/2A) led by 25 points at halftime. Sammamish (0-16, 0-9) was unable to scored more than seven points in any quarter.

Corinna Van Hurston led Liberty with 14 points. Aspen Winegar scored 12 and Danni Sjolander scored 10.

Liberty is now tied with Bellevue for second in the KingCo with three regular season games left. The Patriots play Juanita (2/5), Mercer Island (2/10) and Interlake (2/12).
