Interlake stuck around, but as the rain fell harder Friday night, so did the blows from Liberty. In the end the Patriots won 38-14.
Liberty (7-0 overall, 4-0 KingCo 3A/2A) trailed early, but a pair of touchdowns by Chandler Jenkins game the team a slim, 17-14 lead at the half. Jenkins scored on a 24-yard catch from Trey Wheeler, then a run from eight yards out.
The Patriots came out in the second half determined to put the game out of reach. Their offense melted the clock with run after run and the defense shut Interlake’s high-scoring offense down. The Saints hadn’t scored less than 34 points in any game this year.
Tei Staladi scored on twice on runs in the second half and Jake Bainton sealed the win with an interception return for a touchdown in the fourth quarter. It was his second interception of the quarter.
More details on the game will be available Monday
